Textured Paper

The pirate flag is not merely a piece of fabric; it is a powerful emblem of rebellion, a symbol that boldly declares our defiance against the norm, our refusal to bow to the status quo. It signifies our unwavering commitment to stand tall in the face of adversity, to confront every challenge with unyielding courage.

Why do we raise the pirate flag high? It is because we are rebels at heart, warriors against the mundane, and champions against the odds. We embrace the spirit of defiance, the audacity to sail against the currents, to navigate uncharted waters with the unwavering belief that victory awaits us on the horizon.

This flag is not just a piece of cloth fluttering in the wind; it is a proclamation of our determination to rebel until we emerge triumphant. It is a call to arms, a rallying cry that echoes through the seas of uncertainty, inspiring us to persevere and overcome.

HOW THE BLACK FLAG CAME TO BE.

Nurbs has a compelling narrative since its inception in 2012.

The studios journey began with our first project in 2013, which unfortunately failed, and the subsequent disappointment of losing The Good Pitch competition in the City of McAllen that same year. We faced rejection early on, starting with being the first ones turned down at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce I&E competition.

Our objective was to unveil a welcoming and vibrant logo to the public. Throughout this period, we remained committed to adhering to industry-standard practices with video game development. .

In 2014, we embarked on a recruiting spree, bringing in 15 individuals, only to experience a setback in January 2015 when we lost 14 of those team members. Despite numerous rejections from city leaders who "professed" their desire to aid in the city's growth, Nurbs remained undeterred. Our story is one of unfiltered transparency, where each setback served as a valuable lesson.

After experiencing repeated failures, it became clear that a change in strategy was necessary. We opted to pursue a guerrilla development approach, focusing on what had proven most effective for the studio.
